James Wimberg Juried into "Cyanotype: Process & Possibility" at PhotoPlace Gallery
PADA member James Wimberg has been juried into “Cyanotype: Process & Possibility” at PhotoPlace Gallery. His piece Head Full of Dreams p5 has been selected for the show's online gallery, one page from a five-page series plus cover, each a unique mixed-media work on printmaking paper.
Wimberg describes his process: "The cyanotypes in this series were made using B&W medium format negatives, flopped and sandwiched together in the printing frame with graphite, colored pencil and stamped type added after the print dried."
Juror Sam Wang selected 35 pieces for the exhibition gallery and 40 for the online gallery. "Other than the fact that some were more suitable for online viewing while others to be looked at in the flesh," Wang said, "there was little or no qualitative difference between the two groups."
The exhibition runs September 4 through September 26, 2026, with a special celebration on September 26 featuring workshops and artist talks. Congratulations to James on this well-deserved recognition.
