Linda Chaussée Receives 1839 Award
PADA member Linda Chaussée has received the gold award for a set of five images entered into an 1839 Awards contest. The contest was “The Art of Storytelling”, and the sub-category was “Portrait of Place.” The images were taken in Mineral County in the Nevada desert using a Rolleiflex 2.8 F camera. Linda describes this sequence as follows.
“Mineral County examines impermanence in the Nevada desert, where abandoned towns stand emptied of purpose. Bleached by light and dust, these remnants reveal the tension between human ambition and the desert’s quiet power to reclaim.”
Congratulations, Linda! Here are the winning images.
