Three PADA Members in Brand 54 at the Brand Library
Three PADA members — Rodney Boone, Judy Herman, and Jim Wimberg — have had work accepted into Brand 54: 54th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper at the Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale. Rodney's piece Before the Flood and Judy's piece No Place Like Home both join Jim's Get It On among the 100 works selected this year from entries submitted from across the country. Congratulations to all three!
This year's juror is Tracy Bartley, Project Manager and Senior Researcher for the David Hockney Catalogue Raisonné Project and a co-founder of AFELL (Artist Foundations & Estate Leaders List). With more than twenty-five years of experience in artist studio management and legacy planning — including a decade leading the R.B. Kitaj Estate — Tracy brings a deeply informed eye to the versatility of the paper medium. Brand 54 is on view June 6 through August 28, 2026, with the opening reception on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Brand Library & Art Center is located at 1601 West Mountain Street, Glendale, CA 91201.
While the medium here is paper collage rather than photography as such, PADA warmly welcomes and enjoys this alternative form of artistic expression from our members, and we encourage everyone to make the trip to Glendale to see Rodney's, Judy's, and Jim's work in person. Their accepted pieces are shown below.
Before the Flood by Rodney Boone is a paper collage, 28 x 22 inches, from his Improbable Landscapes series.
Get It On by Jim Wimberg is a paper collage sized 8” x 10. It is from a page in his book of collages that was started in 2021. The page will be displayed as an open book spread with another collage on the facing page.
No Place Like Home by Judy Herman. This piece was previously on view at "Are You Seeing What I'm Seeing?" at the Manhattan Beach Cultural Center. It was inspired by Bondo Wyszpolski 's prompt for that show, "1950s American suburban homes in a T'ang Dynasty landscape."
