L. Chaussée Earns Three Awards in reFocus Color Photography Contest

PADA member L. Chaussée has received three awards in the reFocus Color Photography Contest 2026, recognized across both single-image and series categories in the Professional division.

Her Gold in Film / Analog went to High Dive, a single image also included in the series Beach Club, which itself earned Gold in Fine Art / Professional series. In her own words: "During the warm months, the pool is filled with Atlantic seawater and the high dive becomes an object of ascent and daring. In the off season, roped off and forbidden, it waits quietly for the return of swimmers and the arrival of summer." The five-photograph series was made, like all of Chaussée's award-winning work here, on medium format film with a Rolleiflex 2.8F.

A second series, Piscine, earned an Honorable Mention in Fine Art / Professional, series. Inspired by the rhythm, color, and details of Art Deco design, its five images explore a place where architectural beauty meets public space.

Chaussée's showing follows recognition for fellow PADA member Lynn Doran, recently honored in the same contest with an Honorable Mention for her portrait Blue Lips. Congratulations to both photographers on this well-earned recognition!
