Lynn Doran in Decagon’s “That One Photograph”
PADA member Lynn Doran has her photograph The Blue Hat on view in That One Photograph, a themed exhibition in Decagon Gallery's online space.
Curated by John Manno, the show asked photographers worldwide to submit a single image, the one they never left behind — not necessarily their most accomplished work, but the photograph that continues to hold something years later. Doran's entry is a portrait of a man she met in Ethiopia's Omo Valley in 2013. As she writes in her caption, "I will never forget Zino, the man in the blue hat."
This marks at least the second time The Blue Hat has been juried into a gallery space, following an earlier selection for a Decagon Gallery exhibit. Its staying power reflects Doran's approach to photography, built on immersive travel and genuine connection with her subjects rather than passing tourist encounters.
